Job Description

Ensuring accurate and thorough documentation, the full-time Certified Coder - Virginia will assign diagnostic and procedure codes to medical records while maintaining a coding accuracy of 90% or better in a remote work environment. Key responsibilities Organizes and prioritizes work to complete coding assignments within designated time frames, auditing records and querying clinical staff for clarification as needed Utilizes ICD-10-CM and CPT classification systems to assign codes accurately, adhering to billing requirements and maintaining productivity standards Maintains positive relationships with healthcare providers, assists in training other coders, and participates in the development of coding policies and procedures Required qualifications High School Diploma or GED (Required) 1 year of experience in ICD-10 coding within a medical practice (Preferred) Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) certification from AAPC (Required upon hire)
