Job Description

To support accurate coding of outpatient medical encounters, the full-time Certified Coder will analyze clinical and demographic information to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes while working remotely. Key responsibilities Analyze medical records to assign diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient encounters Identify documentation gaps and initiate queries for clarification to ensure accurate coding Maintain productivity and accuracy standards while managing assigned work queues Required qualifications High School Diploma or GED Certification from AHIMA or AAPC (e.g., CCA, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CPC-A, CIC, COC) Experience applying ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding guidelines Ability to resolve routine coding edits and inquiries Familiarity with documentation needs and coding questions communication
