Job Description

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time Ophthalmology Medical Coder will provide coding and abstracting services for physician and facility medical records using ICD 10-CM, CPS, and CPT coding systems in a remote environment. Key responsibilities Review medical records to assign diagnostic and procedural codes accurately and ensure appropriate DRG assignment Maintain coding accuracy and productivity while utilizing applications to enter coded charts in real-time Participate in team meetings, training, and coding education initiatives to stay updated on industry standards and guidelines Required qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in Profee and Facility Ophthalmology coding Certification in CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA Proficiency in coding Clinic E&M and CPTs, along with knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPS coding principles Experience with Epic and 3M, 360 coding systems Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and reimbursement systems
