Job Description

Reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of medical codes, the full-time New York Licensed Medical Coder will perform system edit reviews, troubleshoot claims issues, and respond to coding inquiries while working remotely. Key responsibilities Reviews and corrects codes created by electronic charge capture according to coding rules and policies Troubleshoots and resolves issues preventing claims from being released by analyzing patient encounters Responds to coding information requests and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders for clarification on documentation Required qualifications High School diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of Medical Coder experience required Associate's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge of ICD-10CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems required Working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy required Preferred certifications include RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CMC
