To support advanced surgical coding practices, the full-time remote Professional Surgical Coder will apply specialty coding to complex surgical encounters, interpret operative reports, and ensure compliance with reimbursement standards. Key responsibilities Codes complex specialty surgical encounters and interprets operative reports to assign accurate procedure codes Resolves escalated coding issues and collaborates with coding teams to ensure consistency in coding practices Applies advanced modifier logic and coding principles to optimize reimbursement and maintain regulatory compliance Required qualifications 2 years of coding experience High School Diploma or GED AHIMA-RHIA, AHIMA-RHIT, AHIMA-CCS, AAPC-CPC, AAPC-CIC, or AAPC-COC certification Experience with advanced specialty coding for complex surgical encounters Ability to resolve complex coding scenarios with minimal guidance
