Working from home full-time, the Pennsylvania Licensed Medical Coder will review and analyze health records to accurately translate diagnoses and procedures into coded form for reimbursement claims. Key responsibilities: Review medical records to identify principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures Utilize Encoder software to determine and sequence appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding Required qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required Minimum of 1 year of related work experience required Relevant coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC required within 12 months of hire Knowledge of hospital and professional coding guidelines and regulations Experience with medical records management systems is preferred
