Responsible for posting medical charges, payments, and journal entries to patient accounts, the full-time Medical Billing Specialist will work in a hybrid environment, ensuring timely and accurate processing of claims while collaborating with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients. Key responsibilities Post medical charges and payments to patient accounts and follow up on unpaid claims Verify insurance filing information and prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software Research and appeal denied claims while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Required qualifications Experience in medical billing and coding, including knowledge of HMO/PPO, Medicare, and state Medicaid Proficiency in using billing software for electronic and paper claim processing Ability to perform eligibility verification and precertification with insurance companies Familiarity with denial management and credentialing processes is a plus Mid-level experience in a similar role is preferred
