About Our Client Our client is seeking an experienced Professional Fee Orthopedic Coder to join their growing remote coding team. Job Description We are seeking a Remote Professional Fee Orthopedic Medical Coder with extensive orthopedic coding experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The ideal candidate will have experience coding complex orthopedic procedures, E/M services, fracture care, and pediatric orthopedic cases. Pulmonary coding experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities Code professional fee inpatient and outpatient orthopedic services.
Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for orthopedic encounters.
Code E/M services, inpatient rounding, fracture care, and surgical procedures.
Review documentation for pediatric orthopedic cases including spinal procedures, scoliosis, clubfoot corrections, and hand surgeries.
Code complex orthopedic procedures while maintaining coding quality.
Maintain a daily productivity log.
Collaborate with QA and coding leadership to ensure coding accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications Recent Professional Fee Orthopedic coding experience required.
Experience coding:
E/M services
Inpatient rounding
Fracture care
Hand surgeries
Pediatric orthopedic cases
Pediatric spinal procedures
Scoliosis
Clubfoot corrections
Pulmonary coding experience (allergy testing, breathing treatments, pulmonary function testing) is a plus.
Experience with Allscripts and Optum Encoder Pro preferred.
CPC or CPMA certification required.
Strong computer and technology skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Additional Details Schedule: Monday-Friday with flexible daytime hours (earliest start time is 6:00 AM Arizona time) and a 30-minute lunch.
Position Type: Contract-to-Hire.
Training: System training during the first few days, followed by coder shadowing for the remainder of the first week. The following week, candidates begin coding with QA review.
Equipment: Personal computer may be used during the contract period. Upon permanent hire (after 90 days), employees receive a $1,500 equipment stipend.
System Access: Typically takes 1-2 weeks.
Interview Process: Phone interview with the hiring manager.
