To support Yale Medicine Administration, the full-time remote CPC-A Certified Medical Coder will review charge submissions for compliance with coding guidelines, perform billing processes, and ensure accurate documentation for patient clinical services. Key responsibilities Review clinical documentation to confirm diagnostic and procedural codes, resolving charge review edits in a timely manner Verify all information required to submit clean claims, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and policies Participate in team training and maintain professional knowledge through educational workshops and publications Required qualifications CPC-A certification through AAPC, with a requirement to achieve CPC status within 2 years Four years of related work experience, including two years in a similar role or an Associate's degree with two years of experience General knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding, medical terminology, and digital coding resources Proficiency with electronic health record systems and MS Office applications Understanding of Federal payer regulations, HIPAA rules, and reimbursement policies
