Certified Medical Biller

Job Description

The medical biller plays a vital role in supporting that mission by ensuring accurate billing, timely reimbursement, and financial integrity across our organization. This position is responsible for processing healthcare claims, ensuring accuracy and proactively managing denied or unpaid claims. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, knowledgeable in medical coding and payer guidelines, and committed to excellence in service and compliance.  

Key Responsibilities:

•  Ensure accurate and complete Revenue Cycle Management from patient registration to payment posting

•  Review, correct, and resubmit rejected or denied claims.

•  Prepare and track appeals to maximize reimbursement

•  Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims

•  Generate submissions and payer reports to support revenue cycle performance

•  Prepare monthly provider and financial reports

•  Maintain compliance with Medicare, payer regulations and HIPAA requirements

•  Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve billing discrepancies 

Qualifications:

H.S. Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in a related field preferred

0-1 years of experience in medical billing or insurance claims processing required; 1-3 years of billing experience in a medical facility preferred 

CPB - Certified Medical Biller preferred
