Providing coding and coding auditing services, the full-time Evaluation and Management Medical Coder will engage in educational outreach to providers and audit outpatient claims while working remotely within the U.S. Key responsibilities Conduct educational outreach via phone and email to communicate coding and documentation guidelines to providers and their staff Perform audits on outpatient claims to validate services, appropriate procedure codes, and compliance with health plan guidelines Provide written feedback based on best practice industry standards following audits Required qualifications High School Diploma/GED Professional coder certification (CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS) from AHIMA and/or AAPC Minimum of 2 years of experience with E&M medical coding 2+ years of experience interacting with physicians in a medical setting Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
