To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time or part-time Single Path Same Day Surgery Coder will work remotely, focusing on accurately coding outpatient orthopedic surgical procedures from medical records to ensure compliance and charge capture.
Key responsibilities
Review outpatient same day surgery medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes
Code a variety of orthopedic surgical procedures while ensuring compliance with NCCI edits and payer guidelines
Maintain productivity and quality standards while staying updated on coding policies and regulations
Required qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of recent Same Day Surgery coding experience
Extensive experience coding orthopedic surgery procedures
Experience with both professional and facility services in a single-pathway workflow
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, modifier assignment, and NCCI edits
Certification from AHIMA or AAPC (e.g., CCS, CPC, COC, RHIA, RHIT) is required
