Reviewing inpatient records for accurate coding, the remote Sr. Certified Coder will abstract and assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and collaborating with various departments to enhance documentation quality. Key responsibilities Abstract and assign diagnosis and procedure codes from inpatient records, ensuring accurate MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignment Communicate with departments regarding charge corrections and audit medical records for compliance with coding regulations Provide coding feedback and education to departmental leadership to improve documentation completeness and accuracy Required qualifications High School Education/GED or equivalent required; Associate's/Technical Degree preferred AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required Working knowledge of hospital Cerner EMR required Three years of inpatient coding experience preferred Experience in a health care setting required
