To support the Mann-Grandstaff Memorial VA Medical Center, the full-time Washington Licensed Medical Coder will provide accurate medical coding for inpatient, outpatient, and observation encounters while ensuring compliance with VA guidelines and maintaining a coding accuracy rate of 95% or above. Key responsibilities Maintain an overall coding accuracy of 95% or above across all record types Perform coding in accordance with current Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting Complete provider queries and meet coding productivity standards for various record types Required qualifications Active coding credential required (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent) Prior experience with VA or federal healthcare coding strongly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of VA-specific coding requirements Ability to locate Financial Identification Numbers (FINs) and link documents accurately in Cerner/Oracle Must complete required VA training prior to beginning work
