Professional Fee Non-Invasive Cardiac Coder (Contract)
Our client is a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization providing comprehensive medical services through hospitals, clinics, health plans, and community health programs. Our client is seeking an experienced Professional Fee Non-Invasive Cardiac Coder to support their coding team on a contract basis. This role requires a highly skilled coder who can immediately contribute to reducing backlog and independently manage a high-volume professional fee work queue. The ideal candidate will have strong cardiovascular coding experience, Epic experience, and the ability to work efficiently with minimal ramp-up time.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform professional fee coding for non-invasive cardiac procedures, including:
- Electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs)
- Cardiac Stress Testing
- Holter Monitors
- Long-Term Event Monitoring
- Echocardiography (TTE)
- Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
- Apply appropriate coding guidelines, including:
- Review and assign accurate CPT and ICD-10-CM codes based on clinical documentation.
- Work within the professional fee coding queue, reviewing a variety of specialties and encounter types, including:
- Hospitalist services
- E/M encounters
- Surgical procedures
- Various specialty services
- Utilize Epic and 3M for coding workflows and references.
- Communicate effectively with auditors, billing teams, and leadership through email and Teams.
- Maintain productivity and quality expectations while working independently.
Qualifications include:
- Must have CCC certification.
- Strong preference for candidates with:
- CCC certification plus CPC or CCS-P
- 3+ years of professional fee coding experience
- Must have an AAPC or AHIMA certification.
- Required Epic experience
- Strong knowledge of professional fee coding guidelines.
- Cardiovascular coding experience required.
- Ability to quickly adapt and independently manage assigned workload.
Additional details include:
- Contract position (minimum 3 months).
- Immediate need due to coding backlog.
- Full-time schedule (40 hours/week).
- Training schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM MST.
- After training, coder can commit to a schedule that may include mornings, nights, or weekends.
- Must be fully committed to the assignment and able to complete work before year-end.
- Candidate must communicate any planned vacation or holiday time off during submission.
- Equipment provided by Addison Group.
