Senior Ambulatory Surgery Coder

Job Description

To support the revenue cycle team, the full-time Senior Ambulatory Surgery Coder will assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient and inpatient encounters while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in a remote work environment. Key responsibilities Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for various medical encounters Review coding claim edits and denials, processing appeals according to guidelines Participate in the Coding Training Program to enhance coding knowledge and skills Required qualifications High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with 3 years of experience, or an Associate's degree with 1 year of experience, or a Diploma/Certification in Coding with 1 year of experience Completion of an AHIMA or AAPC approved coding program is preferred Basic knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT/HCPCS coding principles Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology Ability to use standard desktop and windows-based computer systems
