Job Description

Reviewing clinical documentation, the full-time Certified Observation Coder will assign and sequence diagnostic and procedural codes for Facility Observation records while working remotely in the USA. Key responsibilities Select and sequence ICD-10 CM and CPT codes for designated patient types, including Acute Facility Observation records Review and analyze clinical records to ensure accurate CPT assignment and appropriate modifiers Abstract clinical data from records to ensure documentation supports diagnoses and procedures adequately Required qualifications An active AHIMA credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS) or AAPC credential (COC, CCS-P, CPC) or related specialty credential Two years of recent and relevant hands-on coding experience with all record types, specifically Observation
