To support a dynamic healthcare environment, the full-time remote State Licensed Medical Coding Specialist will utilize encoder and coding software to determine appropriate codes, maintain compliance with coding initiatives, and resolve payer denials while collaborating with revenue cycle teams. Key responsibilities Utilize encoder and coding resources to determine appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes Apply knowledge of National Correct Coding Initiatives and other regulatory requirements to select appropriate codes and modifiers Resolve payer denials and respond to inquiries from revenue cycle teams, processing charge corrections as needed Required qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent and medical coding education required, or an active coding certification in lieu of education Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification required within one year Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred 1 year of progressive coding experience preferred Experience in multiple specialties or HCC Risk adjustment coding preferred
