Senior Medical Records Coder

Job Description

To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time Senior Medical Records Coder will review and assign diagnostic and procedural codes for inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines while working in a hybrid remote/on-campus environment. Key responsibilities Reviews and assigns diagnostic and procedural codes based on medical record documentation according to correct coding principles Performs medical billing tasks, including abstracting patient data and coding diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT codes Conducts charge review and claim edits daily to ensure timely and accurate billing Required qualifications Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding Five years of experience in medical record abstraction and coding Accreditation from a professional coding organization (e.g., AHIMA, AAPC, RHIT, RHIA, CCS) In-depth understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology High school diploma or GED is required
