To support accurate reimbursement and compliance, the full-time remote Inpatient Medical Coder will be responsible for retrospective coding of inpatient medical records, applying ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, and collaborating with clinical teams to ensure adherence to coding guidelines. Key responsibilities Assign diagnosis and procedural codes to inpatient medical records for accurate reimbursement and regulatory compliance Utilize computer-assisted coding tools to ensure accurate code assignment and resolve coding edits Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Integrity specialists and other partners to clarify documentation and support denial prevention efforts Required qualifications High School diploma or GED required Credentialed as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) A minimum of two years of inpatient hospital coding experience, including ICD-10-CM/PCS code assignment and DRG assignment Preferred four to six years of inpatient coding experience
