Job Description

Utilizing expertise in medical coding, the part-time Coder I - Home & Community Care Admin will review and code outpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT4 systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance in a remote setting. Key responsibilities Review medical record documentation to code diagnoses and procedures for reimbursement and compliance Abstract information from medical records while ensuring specificity and optimal reimbursement Identify and correct errors in documents and claims, collaborating with submitting departments as needed Required qualifications Completion of an accredited coding program or equivalent education and experience Minimum of 1 year of experience in abstracting and coding using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 systems preferred Required to obtain a relevant coding credential within 1 year of hire Proficient in MS Office Knowledge of Medicare/CMS requirements and outpatient coding guidelines
