Job Description

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Ancillary Coder will review, analyze, and assign codes for outpatient medical record documentation, focusing primarily on diagnostic and clinical coding, including emergency room and specimen patient types. Key responsibilities Review and analyze outpatient medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 HCPCS codes Ensure accurate coding for diagnostic/clinical, emergency room, recurring, and specimen patient types Adhere to coding guidelines and criteria during the coding process Required qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required One or more coding certifications required (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H) Coding experience preferred Coding Certificate program from an AHIMA accredited institution preferred Experience in coding at a multi-facility organization and remote coding experience is a plus
