To ensure precise coding of medical records, the full-time South Carolina Licensed Coder will accurately assign codes for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services while adhering to official coding guidelines in a remote environment. Key responsibilities Assign accurate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and conditions based on patient medical records Utilize ICD-10 and CPT coding systems in compliance with established guidelines Collaborate with the Health Information Management Department to resolve coding issues and maintain coding accuracy Required qualifications Associate's degree in health information technology or related field, or 5 years of coding experience Coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS) is required Minimum of 2-3 years of coding experience with an Associate's degree Familiarity with coding software and strong analytical skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills
