HIM Coder (Outpatient)
Responsibilities
Assign accurate ICD‑9‑CM and ICD‑10‑CM codes upon patient discharge (outpatient).
Maintain quality and accuracy of patient medical records in compliance with federal and state licensing agencies and JCAHO standards.
Communicate with physicians to clarify coding questions and resolve discrepancies.
Prioritize and shift workloads to meet departmental revenue‑cycle goals.
Collaborate with other departments and assist with training or guidance on coding practices.

Qualifications
RHIT/RHIA credential required.
Coding experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
