CPC Medical Coder - Georgia

Job Description

To support Orthopedics and Podiatry Services, the remote Medical Coder - Georgia will assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and coding guidelines while managing work queues and generating coding queries as needed. Key responsibilities: Assigns accurate CPT and ICD-10 codes for outpatient hospital professional accounts Monitors work queues to ensure timely charging and coding of records Stays updated on changes in coding conventions and generates queries for clarification on physician documentation Required qualifications: High School Diploma/GED Professional CPC coder certification from AHIMA and/or AAPC, maintained annually 5+ years of pro-fee coding experience in Orthopedics and podiatry services Intermediate knowledge of Medicare guidelines and modifiers Intermediate experience with Epic and handling coding denials
