To support a dynamic healthcare environment, the full-time remote Certified Medical Coding Specialist II will utilize coding software to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines. Key responsibilities Utilize encoder and grouper software to determine appropriate coding for various medical specialties Apply knowledge of National Correct Coding Initiatives and Medicare guidelines to select appropriate codes and modifiers Maintain coding accuracy and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards Required qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent and medical coding education required, or an active coding certification in lieu of education 1 year of progressive coding experience required, with specific experience for HCC roles as applicable Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), or other relevant coding certification required upon hire Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred 2 years of progressive coding experience in multiple specialties preferred
