This position is accountable for assigning ICD-9-CM diagnosis and procedure codes and CPT-4 procedure codes to inpatient and outpatient medical records utilizing the 3M encoding software application. Assigns both HCFA-DRG and APR-DRG's to inpatient medical records. Abstracts clinical, financial, trauma-related, and quality management information into the health system's information management system.
