Overview The Office of the Commissioner of Political Practices (COPP) is seeking an experienced Compliance Auditor to develop and implement a program to exercise the Commissioner’s authority to audit lobbying reports. The successful candidate must demonstrate experience developing and determining the scope of new auditing initiatives and have strong relationship-building skills with the ability to work independently. This position will work under the direction of the Commissioner and Chief Legal Counsel and coordinate closely with the COPP Investigator. This position is temporarily funded through June 30, 2027. This position is expected to end when the funding ends. This position is open until it is filled.
Job Duties Analyze lobbying statutes and reporting requirements to develop a process for auditing reports lobbyists are required to file with the Commissioner’s Office.
Determine the scope of the audit and identify causes of inconsistencies in lobbying reporting.
