Job Description Job Description Position : Medical Coder (Certified) Hours: Full-Time Department : Health Information Management General Description: Responsible for abstraction, assignment, and conversion of diagnoses and treatment procedures into codes using ICD-10 and HCPCS. This position will work collaboratively with HIM staff to code hospital inpatient, outpatient, and physician office episodes. Correlate information from appropriate supporting clinical documentation not limited to Pathology, Radiology and/or other Physician Consultations after review by the Attending Physician, wherever appropriate. Requires skill in the sequencing of diagnoses/procedures to optimize reimbursement. Ensures that records are coded in an accurate and timely manner.
