Emergency Department Coder (Facility & Pro-Fee | Injection & Infusion) – Remote Location: Remote (work from home) Experience: Emergency department coding, including facility and provider (pro-fee) coding and injection and infusion code assignment Job Summary The Emergency Department Coder is a key role supporting one or more Cognizant clients, responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and accurately assigning diagnosis and procedure codes for emergency department encounters, as well as outpatient surgery, observation, and outpatient diagnostic encounters. This role assigns facility and provider (pro-fee) codes and charges for the same encounter, including E/M levels, ED procedures, injections and infusions, and EKGs, works independently and as part of a team, and queries physicians to clarify documentation, while meeting accuracy and productivity standards in a fast-paced remote environment.
