A company is looking for a Coder ER to review medical records and perform coding for diagnoses and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Abstract, code, sequence, and interpret clinical information from various medical records
Assign correct principal and secondary diagnoses and procedure codes while ensuring accurate sequencing
Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and track productivity levels as defined by the client
Required Qualifications
Successful completion of an AAPC or AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program
A minimum of two to four years of current production coding experience in acute care
Must possess relevant certificates such as CPC, COC, CIC, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, and/or CCS-P
Experience with ED facility coding is preferred
Knowledge of coding conventions and rules established by relevant organizations
