Medical Necessity Coder Thorough working knowledge of current ICD CM coding system, CPT procedures, Medical necessity, Medical Terminology, Anatomy, Physiology, and Prospective Payment system (DRG's). Screen all services for Medicare and Medicaid patients to comply with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines in order to determine coverage, eligibility and ensure beneficiary notification when service(s) may not be covered.
