The position reviews third party payer reimbursement denials based on the following: provider documentation, coding accuracy, medical necessity, modifier assignment, applicable federal, state and local guidelines and payer policies. Using data from these reviews, the coder 3 identifies and works to resolve documentation and/or coding issues, and takes part in creating education materials for coding staff and providers to follow-up on best practices for coding and documentation.
