Position Summary:
Provides functional oversight to staff. Performs follow up of complex claims for payment, as well as auditing, coding and analyzing claims and claim payments.
Major Responsibilities:- Monitors changes in reimbursement policies, including payor fee schedule reconciliation.
- Establishes, monitors, and maintains standards of quality, quantity, and functions performed by the staff.
- Audits, codes, and analyzes third party reimbursements for revenue enhancement.
- Performs special projects as assigned by manager or supervisor defining problems, determining work sequence and summarizing findings.
- Distributes and monitors the flow of work for an assigned group of employees.

Required:
High school diploma plus additional postsecondary courses in medical billing and medical terminology.
Experience/Skills:
Required:
Three years of billing experience in a multispecialty physician billing environment. Knowledge of multiple third party insurance regulations. Knowledge of claims coding, ICD, CPT and HCPCS coding as well as modifier assignment. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and disease process. Knowledge of billing and reimbursement requirements of thirdparty payors in Massachusetts. Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet strict deadlines. Computer skills to include mainframe and PC applications. Must be self-motivated, service oriented, and have excellent communication skills (written and oral).
