BILLING CERTIFIED CODER
Location: West Salem Clinic |1233 Edgewater St. NW, Salem OR 97304 (On-site, not a remote position)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
As our Billing Certified Coder, you will support accurate coding, billing, and reimbursement processes across our integrated healthcare organization. This dual-function role combines medical billing responsibilities with professional coding review and compliance oversight to ensure timely and accurate claims processing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review provider documentation and assign appropriate CPT-4, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes
Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with payer and regulatory requirements
Perform charge entry, payment posting, account adjustments, refunds, and sliding fee discounts
Monitor encounter reconciliation, productivity, charges, and payment reports
Maintain confidentiality of patient records and billing information
Support organizational compliance initiatives including HIPAA, OSHA, HRSA, FTCA, and Joint Commission standards
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Certified Coder credential through an accredited organization or college
Minimum 1–2 years of coding experience in physician-based services
Knowledge of CPT-4, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding
Basic understanding of medical billing processes and accounting principles related to payments and adjustments
Strong computer skills and ability to navigate electronic medical records and billing systems
