Location Primary Location for Job Responsibilities: 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060. Department Specific Tasks and Responsibilities Provides quality and technically relevant instruction in Medical Billing and Coding. Provides continual feedback and uses various assessment methods to ensure student mastery of learning outcomes, including: Explains key medical roots, suffixes, and prefixes and interprets ICD‑10‑CM/PCS coding conventions. Interprets inpatient diagnosis and procedure coding guidelines for acute care, outpatient, and physician office settings. Assigns HCPCS Level II procedure and services codes for outpatient care. Interprets CPT guidelines, coding notes, and modifiers for all sections and subsections. Identifies third‑party payers and defines each healthcare reimbursement model. Applies knowledge of medical terminology, office procedures, and billing systems to support instruction. Job Summary Provides quality and technically relevant instruction in the assigned program, following departmental guidelines, policies, procedures, and relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities Provides quality and relevant instruction of course curriculum. Teaches learning strategies. Conducts teaching and instructional activities using educational equipment and learning aids. Uses assessment methods to ensure mastery of learning outcomes. Assesses and records grading for all homework assignments, quizzes, and tests. Completes paperwork associated with classroom and project management. Participates in marketing of courses to prospective students. Assists with course and/or program evaluation and continuous improvement, resolving quiz disputes when necessary. Maintains acceptable program quality and satisfaction scores. Keeps Program Manager informed of any curriculum or student conduct issues. Records attendance in the learning management system. Required Qualifications Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education. Other Required Qualifications: Certified Professional Coder with Instructor distinction through AAPC. Required Experience: Five (5) years as a Certified Professional Coder. Preferred Qualifications Prior teaching experience. Abilities Able to handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Able to motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process. Able to review syllabus and learning outcomes on the first night of class. Able to provide sufficient time for students to complete course evaluations. Able to respond to student inquiries in a timely manner. Maintains classroom order (does not release class early or leave unattended). Knowledge Familiar with emergency procedures posted in the classroom. Skills Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem‑solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills. Proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft Office suite. Strong attention to detail and follow‑up skills. Strong customer service skills and phone and e‑mail etiquette.
