Compilation of statistical reports as needed for healthcare operations./ppMajor Job Duties Responsibilities/pulliAccurately assigns diagnosis and procedure codes for assigned patient encounters using appropriate coding guidelines and regulations./liliCompiles and distributes statistical reports as requested./liliAdjusts/enters charges in Meditech./liliEducates providers for correct coding, documentation specificity, and ethical reimbursement methodology./liliQueries providers for documentation clarification./liliCompletes educational requirements for certification maintenance./liliParticipates in department quality projects and performance improvement initiatives./liliEfficiently manages time and organizes workload to maximize medical center and department resources./liliMeet the productivity and quality standards as documented in the coding department guidelines./li/ulpSkills, Knowledge, Abilities/pulliMust be detail oriented, and skilled in documentation abstraction, data entry and retrieval./liliThorough understanding of current ICD-910-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT/HCPCS coding conventions./liliExperience with Encoder software and electronic medical records systems, (Meditech preferred) along with knowledge of medical office procedures and protocols./liliMust be able to develop and maintain positive relationships with providers to query and educate them in documentation integrity and specificity./liliMust be able to maintain a sense of urgency and multitask in a busy office environment./liliMust be a proactive learner, team and task oriented, well organized, and able to provide excellent internal and external customer service./liliAbility to work closely and collaboratively with the medical center Business Office and clinical departments to ensure correct and accurate charge capture./liliMust be able to develop positive relationships with providers to query and educate them in documentation integrity and specificity./li/ulpEducation Requirements/ppHigh school diploma required./ppMedical Terminology/ppAHIMA CCA, CCA-A, CCS, CCS-P and/or AAPC CPC-A, CPC, COC or CIC credential/ppExperience/ppTwo or more years coding experience in an acute hospital setting required./ppSchedule/ppDay shift, Monday through Friday./ppOnsite, remote, or hybrid work available./ppBenefits Package/ppFull-time benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, long-term disability (LTD), and life accidental death and dismemberment (ADD) insurance for you and your eligible family members, plus a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match./ppCabinet Peaks Medical Center is committed to providing a safe, efficient, and productive work environment for all employees.
