Salary: $45,907.00 - $69,203.00 Annually Location: Erie County, PA Job Type: Civil Service Permanent Full-Time THE POSITION The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a Medical Records Supervisor to support the medical staff at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Albion. In this role, you help manage important health record systems and make sure information is well organized and accurate. Your work helps keep records secure, accessible, and compliant with all requirements. This is a great opportunity to use your leadership skills in a role where your attention to detail truly matters. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Staff Supervision: Manage work assignments, provide training, and guide subordinate staff. Record Management: Organize and maintain the integrated health record system in accordance with standards. Record Processing: File, issue, and transfer medical records while following confidentiality rules and legal statutes. Quality Review: Check medical records for accuracy and follow up with staff on incomplete documentation. Report Preparation: Create statistical reports and prepare records for departmental reviews. Committee Participation: Assist in quality assurance efforts and evaluate record maintenance practices. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week; work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday; Telework: not available; Salary: starting annual salary of $45,907.00 for new employees. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY Necessary Special Requirement: In possession of a valid Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certificate from AHIMA, or eligibility for certification including completion of an AHIMA‑approved RHIT or RHIA program. Post Employment Requirement: Employees who meet the eligibility option must obtain certification within 12 months of employment. Other Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA; PA residency requirement is waived; Must be able to perform essential job functions.
