Role Overview The Medical Services Supervisor oversees the medical services provided by the medical Providers at RPS, ensures safe and appropriate interventions are practiced, supervises Addiction Medicine Nurse Practitioners practicing in the inpatient facility, and manages on-call Addiction Medicine services to ensure service availability seven days a week. Key Responsibilities Provide initial medical assessments to clients admitted to inpatient withdrawal management within state-mandated time frames. Provide short-term management of acute and chronic medical conditions as needed. Provide pharmacologic management of clients in withdrawal from alcohol, opioids and/or benzodiazepines according to established protocols/best practices. Provide appropriate triage, assessment and treatment for acute medical conditions which may arise during an inpatient stay. Make decisions to transfer to most appropriate level of medical care, as necessary. Provide medical/clinical support to the nursing team as requested. Utilize and/or oversee medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorders, including naltrexone and buprenorphine when appropriate. Order and interpret diagnostic tests as appropriate. Provide clinical supervision to Addiction Medicine ARNP staff. Consult with behavioral health providers as needed. Provide monthly scheduling of Providers for seven day a week coverage. Collaborate with Site Director to recruit, interview, and train new Providers, as needed. Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record of services provided. Communicate with primary care providers and other community partners as needed to ensure continuity of care. Train On Call Addiction Medicine providers, ensure on call coverage for addiction medicine services, and oversee quality of On Call addiction medicine services. Develop and maintain policies, procedures and workflows as appropriate/requested. Maintain licensure, board certification and continuing education as per community standards and state/federal requirements. Adhere to agency policies and procedures, and align with Joint Commission, federal, state, and local requirements as the agency standard. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: MD or DO Graduation from an accredited school or program Licensed to practice under state WAC and RCW Board-certified or board-eligible Familiarity with best practices in substance use disorder treatment including detoxification protocols Familiarity with principles of harm reduction in substance use disorder treatment Current knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of common acute and chronic medical conditions Pass required background checks Valid driver’s license Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills High integrity/ethical standards Ability to establish positive, respectful, and collaborative professional relationships Flexibility, team orientation Strong work ethic How to Apply If you are ready to take the next step in your career and join a company that values your contributions, we would love to hear from you.
