The Medical Assistant Supervisor provides clinical and operations oversight for Medical Assistants across multiple locations.  This role blends hands-on technical expertise with day-to-day coordination to support strong patient outcomes and efficient workflows.  The supervisor reports to the Clinical Manager, works closely with providers, and ensures compliance with industry standards. 

Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Supervise and lead a team of Medical Assistants, ensuring optimal staffing levels. Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure professional development and accountability with direct oversight from the Clinical Manager.
  • Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Mentors and guides Medical Assistant teams, manages team timekeeping, and schedules
  • Verifies patient information by interviewing the patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; and confirming the purpose of the visit or treatment.
  • Educate patients by providing medication and diet information and instructions, and answering questions.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential and in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Serves and protects the physician's or health care provider's practice by adhering to professional standards, policies, and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 years of clinical healthcare experience required
  • CPR Certification Required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word/Excel
  • EMR experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Cardiology experience
  • MA education
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • EMR Experience
  • ACLS

Physical Requirements

This position requires a full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds. 

Work Environment

Work is performed in a typical medical clinic and/or business office environment. Work in a clinical setting has the potential for exposure to blood and bodily fluids and infectious pathogens. Must be able to use protective equipment as required.
