Senior E/M Specialty Coder

Location: Irving, TX | Onsite

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

• $42.18/hour – Specialty Certified Coder

• Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Temp-to-Perm | W2

• Start Date:May 25

ROLE IMPACT

The Senior E/M Specialty Coder ensures accurate and compliant coding of Evaluation and Management (E/M) services across outpatient and inpatient encounters. This role directly supports revenue cycle integrity, reduces claim denials, and maintains regulatory compliance. Success is measured by coding accuracy, productivity standards, and effective collaboration with clinical and administrative teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding for outpatient clinic visits and inpatient hospital rounding encounters

• Review and analyze clinical documentation to assign accurate ICD-10-CM (diagnosis), ICD-10-PCS (procedure), and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific coding guidelines and regulations

• Maintain high coding accuracy and productivity benchmarks

• Partner with providers and administrative teams to clarify documentation and reduce billing discrepancies

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 2+ years of physician (Professional Fee/Profee) Evaluation and Management (E/M) services across outpatient and inpatient encounters

• Active Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding certification through AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders)

• EMR systems including EPIC and Meditech

• Good job stability (minimum of 1 year at previous roles)

• Strong analytical, research, and communication skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

• Evaluation & Management (E/M) coding

• Outpatient (clinic) encounter coding

• Inpatient (hospital rounding) coding

• ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding

• ICD-10-PCS procedural coding

• CPT code assignment and modifier usage

• Clinical documentation review and validation

• Claim denial prevention and resolution support
