Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) is a community-minded, forward-thinking behavioral health organization helping people along the road to health and well-being. The Medical Assistant Supervisor is responsible for the operational supervision of the medical assistant and medical scheduling team across our service region. This position ensures effective phone and office coverage, scheduling, collaboration across programs, and the quality of care delivered by medical assistants. The Medical Assistant Supervisor completes administrative tasks and ensures adequate practice coverage while fostering a supportive and efficient work environment for the psychiatry team.
The pay range for this position is $48,596.66 – $58,451.92 based on experience, education, and/or licensure.
Essential Functions
Provide operational oversight of the medical assistant and scheduling teams
Provides routine support and assistance to employees through individual and group conferences
Mentor team members to enhance their performance and professional growth
Work closely with the Psychiatry Practice Manager and other leadership to align departmental goals with organizational priorities
Foster communication and collaboration between the psychiatry team and other departments
Ensure consistent phone and office coverage throughout the service region
Serve as a backup resource for team members as directed by the Practice Manager
Develop and implement strategies to improve scheduling processes, show rates, and efficiency
Collaborate with other programs to streamline workflows and enhance service delivery
Carries out initiatives to elevate the quality of care provided by medical assistants
Monitor and approve timesheets and PTO requests to ensure sufficient coverage
Evaluates the performance of staff members and recommends appropriate action to the manager
Participate in the review and selection of new staff, including but not limited to completion of position requisitions, applicant reviews, and interviews
Responsible for implementation and oversight of organizational policies, procedures, and/or processes
Trains employees in areas such as organizational policy, psychiatry procedures, and organizational or governmental regulations
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives as required
Travel within designated service areas
Other duties as assigned
Education Requirements
A high School diploma or GED is required
A bachelor’s degree in the behavioral health field or a related field is preferred
Experience Requirements
Three years of experience in healthcare operations, team supervision, or scheduling coordination is required
Proficiency in relevant software systems for scheduling and administrative tasks
Broad knowledge of the community service systems
Able to effectively communicate through verbal/written expression
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Must be able to operate in an Internet-based, automated office environment.
Working Conditions
