What you will do in this role
Review and code clinical notes and operative reports for assigned specialty/specialties.
Coordinate and reconcile multiple schedules to ensure complete charge capture.
Enter codes into billing system in a timely manner.
Work with the A/R team on follow up and resolution of coding-related denials and rejections, including recommendation of new/updated coding edits.
Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and relevant federal regulations through pertinent materials.
What qualifications you will need
High school diploma or GED preferred
Minimum two years of professional fee coding and/or reimbursement experience required. Relevant education may substitute for experience requirement.
Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology is preferred.
Knowledge of pathophysiology is preferred.
Coding certification through AHIMA or AAPC required. Work experience may be accepted in lieu of credential.
