Medical Billing Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and support remote billing team members to ensure productivity, accuracy, and timely claim submission
• Review and verify medical documentation for completeness and billing accuracy
• Enter and maintain patient demographic and insurance information in the EMR/billing system
• Generate, submit, and track insurance claims
• Follow up on unpaid, rejected, or denied claims to ensure maximum reimbursement
• Post insurance and patient payments and reconcile accounts
• Resolve billing discrepancies and respond to patient inquiries regarding balances and statements
• Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, addressing questions related to billing performance, processes, and EMR workflows
• Provide support to Spanish-speaking patients regarding billing questions
• Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and all healthcare privacy regulations

Qualifications & Requirements

• Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred)
• 3+ years of medical billing experience in a physician or outpatient setting
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and billing processes
• Experience with Harris CareTracker EMR and billing software strongly preferred
• CPC or CCS-P certification required
• Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills with both patients and provider clients
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team
