Assign ICD-10-CM, PCS, and/or CPT codes to records of discharged patients, depending on the type of visit. Assign appropriate DRG to IP visits.

Minimum Education
- High school or equivalent

- 1 year
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Certified coding specialist must have any of the following certifications:
  - CPC
  - COC
  - CIC
  - COC-P
  - CPC-A
  - CCS

- Compile and analyze reports
- Compile statistics
- Compose letters/memorandums
- Coordinate meetings
- Generate reports
- Input data into computer programs
- Maintain filing systems
- Maintain logs
- Maintains manuals
