Job Title: Compliance Auditor

Job Description: Manages all aspects of compliance for customer's underground and aboveground storage tank systems. Auditors frequently use written and verbal communication to clients to notify them when release detection deficiencies need to be corrected and regulators when deficiencies have been corrected.

What You'll Do:

  • 40%: Maintain up to date information on all activities in compliance database and electronically file all correspondence, tests, and other documentation. Hire and track testing, emergency response, and environmental subcontractors with regard to compliance tasks.
  • 25%: Communicate with state regulatory agencies. Communicate with store managers. Communicate with the clients' corporate staff. Responds to Notices of violations and brings them to resolution.
  • 20%: Manages a variety of department-specific projects. Developing skills for autonomous project management.
  • 10%: Perform other activities as assigned by General Manager, Branch Manager, Supervisor, Senior Hydrogeologist and Project Managers.
  • 5%: Other duties as assigned.
  • Working Hazards: Works in a seated position for extended periods of time.
  • Physical/Mental: Ability to perform light physical work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a frequent basis, performing such activities as grasping, lifting, reaching, crouching, and repetitive tasks. Continuous attention to numerical detail. Normal office environment.
What We're Looking For:
  • Education: Requires High school education, or equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree in business, public administration or environmental science preferred.
  • Experience: 0-3 years of related experience, or equivalent training and/or experience.
  • Technical Abilities: Knowledge of petroleum compliance principles and practices including knowledge of state and federal laws, rules and regulations governing same. Moderate experience using Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Autonomy/Direction: Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under intermittent supervision. Primary job functions periodically require exercising independent judgment.
