As an Inpatient Auditor Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing our consulting and educational initiatives focused on coding quality, compliance assessments, and coding workflow operations. Your expertise will help exceed customer expectations while effectively addressing and resolving their challenges. This is a fully remote position with a flexible schedule, empowering you to shape the future of healthcare from the comfort of your own workspace!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inpatient facility coding audits based on the specified scope of work, onboarding, focused reviews, service level agreements, and various audit types, ensuring compliance with MS DRG or APR DRGs.
  • Provide clear and detailed rationales for identified changes, complete with thorough references to relevant documentation.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes that impact coding practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Efficiently manage multiple cases to optimize workflow and turnaround times.
  • Educate coders throughout the auditing process, contributing to their professional growth.
  • Maintain a professional and positive demeanor in all interactions, guaranteeing excellent customer service.
  • Adhere to the American Health Information Management Association's Code of Ethics.
  • Show proficiency in handling complex work functions and decision-making processes.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications for Success:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in facility inpatient coding and/or auditing.
  • Preferred certifications include CCS, RHIA, or RHIT.
  • Maintain a DRG accuracy rate of 95% or higher.
  • Familiarity with software like Epic, Cerner, and other widely used EMRs.

The pay range for this role is $35-$45 USD per hour, which may vary based on location, responsibilities, skills, experience, and other requirements.
