Qualifications
Job qualifications & certifications:
Active CPC, CCS, or CCS-P certification required.
Minimum 2 years of professional or facility coding experience.
Strong knowledge of CMS, OIG, and payer documentation requirements.
Experience with multispecialty coding strongly preferred.
Skills:
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in EHRs and coding software.
Key Responsibilities
Review clinical documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific guidelines.
Query providers for clarification as needed.
Assist with coding audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain productivity and accuracy benchmarks.
Support coding education for internal teams and providers.
Physical Examination Responsibilities
None or minimal; primarily office-based.
