Job Summary
Professional Fee Coder - Analyst II, under the direction of their Revenue Manager and Associate Director, will provide support in areas of revenue operations related to coding, auditing, and training for their designated areas. Responsibilities include providing education and training to physicians and clinical staff on documentation to ensure compliance with coding guidelines. Analyst II will perform an in-depth review of physician documentation and is responsible to present findings along with recommendations to the department on physician education. The incumbent should be familiar with all applicable billing and coding regulations and be able to effectively communicate these regulations to all levels of faculty, management and staff. This position will also assign codes based on a review of clinical charts, resolve coding issues based on denials, and Identify areas of improvement. Under general supervision, applies acquired skills as a revenue cycle analyst to complete projects of moderate scope and complexity.
Compensation: Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. Certain terms and conditions of employment for this position, including the rate of pay and benefits, are subject to negotiation with the appropriate union. The hourly rate of pay is $45 per hour, with the ability to earn up to $67.19 as one gains experience.
