Overview Under general supervision appropriately assigns DRGs, APCs, ICD-10 and CPT to all patient account types according to AHA and UHDDS guidelines. This is a credentialed coder/abstractor position responsible for coding levels up to and including Inpatient – All types of cases, Outpatient Clinical, Emergency Room, Same Day Surgery, and Observation.

Compensation Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate\'s placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Qualifications Required Qualifications:
National Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders upon hire or
National Certified Coding Associate - American Health Information Management Association upon hire or
National Certified Coding Specialist - American Health Information Management Association upon hire or
National Registered Health Information Administrator - American Health Information Management Association upon hire or
National Registered Health Information Technician - American Health Information Management Association upon hire.
1 year - CPT and ICD-10-CM acute care hospital coding experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate\'s Degree - Medical Record Technology.
Coursework/Training - Completion of a certified coding program with intense anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, disease process and pharmacology.
3 years - Inpatient coding in an acute care setting.
Experience in other clinical or healthcare disciplines.
